I am the recipient of a scholarship donated by the Stone Family Foundation. I was so impressed with the 2019 Annual General Meeting of the TMWA. I am currently studying in the first year of my clinical program, but luckily I didn’t have to be on duty during the day of the meeting and there was no exam on that day either. So I had a chance to attend. In the afternoon, there was a session of “Scholars’ Gathering” (Sisters to Sisters) in which medical instructors and female medical doctors joined the medical students in various activities. Our older sisters shared their experiences in dealing with all the problems while studying medicine and they also extended their cheerful motivation to us. Attending the meeting this year was like coming home to reignite the inspiring flame of our dream. This event was so full of the warmth extended both by our older and younger sisters.

Hello. I am Suthasinee Eadtem a 5th year medical student
who has been awarded a TMWA Scholarship since 2015 while I began studying in my 1st year at Princess of Naradhiwas University. This university renders educational services covering the three provinces in the most southern part of Thailand and is training medical doctors for careers in rural areas. Throughout the past 5 years of my study of medicine, I have to admit that I had to study hard not only on the academic areas but also on developing various skills in a way that I would be competent in taking care of patients in the future. I am now in the later part of the last semester of my 5th year, and there was a most exciting and impressive experience for me this year. I had a chance to conduct a delivery. For me, childbirth is something wonderful. And also this year, I had a chance to learn more and have been assigned with more roles in taking care of patients. This has made me realize more each day the value of the help and care we extend to each other. Finally, I am proud to be a part of TMWA and feel so grateful to the donor (the Stone Family Foundation) and the TMWA for extending their kindness and support to me all along.

Hello. I am Wanwisa Saraphong, a 3rd year medical student at Walailak University
and a scholar of the TMWA Scholarship Program. This scholarship has turned my life as a young person (that previously had to work to earn money for her education) into a better life and allowed me to dedicate myself fully to my studies. At the moment, my future plan is to work (in return for the subsidized funding I received from the government) in the Nakhon Si Thammarat Province where I grew up. Although my interest in a medical specialty is still uncertain, I have started to become attracted to Pediatrics and Cardiac Medicine (radiology). While my future is still unknown, what I want to do now is study hard to honor the opportunity given me by the TMWA and to become a good doctor.
