Hello. I am Suntree Saengher, 28 years old. I was granted a scholarship from the TMWA in 2010. My hometown is in Mae Hong Son province, and I graduated in Medicine from Chiang Mai University. I am now working in return for the government's subsidized funding in Mae Sariang Hospital Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province. I am sticking to my current job at the moment and plan to further my education later, maybe in a year from now. This year I joined the mentoring team for the royal health centers (under the initiation of HRH Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, transformed from the infirmary room of schools run by the Border Patrol Police). There are 2 royal health centers altogether in the Mae Sariang District, located in a very remote border area which lacks roads and a system of water supply. They use solar cells to generate power. We have to travel by boat for a distance and then on foot. I am assigned to cover Outpatient Services and Antenatal Care. It is a very impressive work experience for me.

Hello. I am Pimchanok Sirisart, a medical doctor (Intern 1) at Pakchongnana Hospital, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. I am one of the scholars of the TMWA Scholarship Program, awarded in 2013. First of all, I would like to tell you about my application for the scholarship. I was studying in the first year in university at that time. I came from the Northeastern Region of Thailand and had never been in Bangkok before. I passed the exam for enrolling in the Project for Production of Rural Doctors of Mahidol University. At the beginning, I felt reluctant and worried about the living costs and tuition fees in Bangkok that might be higher than in my hometown. However I thought it was a very good opportunity for me. At the same time, the income of my family was in the middle range, and my parents would have had more expenses to cover for my education. So I wanted to be able to cover some expenses by myself in order to lessen the burden on my family. Then, I saw the announcement calling for applications for the TMWA Scholarship. I thought it was a very good scholarship covering monthly expenses and tuition fees for every semester. So I applied. I didn’t hope much at the beginning that I would be awarded. I felt so delighted when the result came out that I was selected. I felt so happy that I could lessen some of the burdens of my parents and that I could take care of myself well while studying in Bangkok. Then, from the first year that I started receiving the scholarship until now; every time when I attend the TMWA annual meeting, I always feel grateful, delighted and warm. TMWA is not only the association providing the scholarship for me throughout the six-year period of my study but also my second home. I feel so warm every time when I visit the TMWA. My dear medical teachers always take care of me attentively, give advice and support for my education, and extend help to me in all aspects. They also share experiences and knowledge on how to lead my life happily as a medical student.
